Meet Our Therapists: Nikki Frenzen, COO, MS, PLMHP

July 22, 2019

Nikki Frenzen, COO and co-owner of Clearwater Counseling, PC, is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner who is dedicated to offering mental health services to rural communities throughout Nebraska.

Having grown up in a rural community, Nikki's desire to help others first began in high school when she realized she wanted to be a therapist.

"There are so many wonderful aspects to providing therapy to children and families," Nikki said. "One of the greatest rewards is seeing positive change occur throughout the counseling process. I love seeing clients accomplish their end goals and reach their full potential."

Nikki, who obtained both her Bachelor's Degree in Human Service Counseling and Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health at Wayne State College, has over 6 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults with behavioral disorders and chronic mental health disorders.

Nikki's passion lies in helping children who struggle behaviorally find positive coping skills. She also enjoys working with parents to discover positive parenting techniques. She is trained in CASI Evaluations, Brainspotting and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Nikki also utilizes several therapeutic theories to guide treatment. Looking ahead, Nikki plans to become a trained and certified play therapist.

In Nikki's down time, she enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her family and friends.

She also occupies her time by seeking opportunities to increase her knowledge in order to further meet the individualized needs of clients.

"Ultimately, I strive to not only provide clients with the absolute best care, but also bring attention to the importance of mental health," Nikki said. "Everyone deserves access to mental health services. For me to be able to deliver these much needed services to the rural area that I grew up in is a dream come true."

Nikki sees clients at the Grand Island location. To schedule an appointment with Nikki, please call 308-210-8487 or email info@clearwatercounselingne.org.
